Dave its not like that at all, you will be pleased to hear that yesterday in between a mountain of jobs on another car I spent 5 minutes putting the Kombi's head back together, seemed so much easier than pitching a roof :)

Glad you seem to have had fun, travelling about. Not the best time of year down here, March/April is normally pretty stable for the weather.

    Cheers

Another day In Stanley relaxing before heading back to Devonport and the boat tomorrow.
Looked around town and had lunch at the pub
Did the tourist thing and checked out Highfield historic site which was the headquarters of the Van Diemen's Land company.
Really interesting history and well worthwhile spending time at the site.
On the way there I got a good shot of the Nut.

A common saying everywhere we've been is "If you don't like the weather here just wait 20 minutes"

The heater circuit breaker opened about 2.00am and we froze, had the heat lights on in the bathroom and everything that we owned on but still cold. the next morning i told the bloke in the office and he says"oh the circuit breaker kicks out every now and then, just reset it'" he could have told us when we booked in.

I dealt with a freight company once in Tas, and after not actually sending a truck for pickup on the date we agreed too, 6 weeks prior, was then told on the phone:

“You haven’t dealt with Tasmania before, have you? Things don’t happen here, like they do on the mainland....” o_O

Another nice free camp spot is Boat Harbour. When we were there the weather was just perfect and the swimming great.
