Hiya team. In the past little while I have become intrigued by the following mysterious features in my 75 bay bus ...

    1. I pulled out the bench seats and floor mats recently to check out a few things (!) and found there's a weird small hatch in the floor, towards the front of the main body section and slightly to the driver's side - see pic. It's got a springy hinged door on it. What in de hell is this for??

    2. It's been buggin' me for some time about a little light lens on the dash marked 'B', in between the hot/cold sliders. Sorry no pics, but my 76 camper has a wee hole in the same place! It doesn't seem to do anything. But obviously it was put there for some reason...

Any or all explanations will be gratefully received and duly noted. 20170602_120108 copy.jpg

    Cheers

    Mick

The hatch is where the rear heater distributer fits in a microbus...

The "B" light is the brake warning light. It lights up if a brake circuit fails. However I had one that also lit up when the alternator failed.

Well that's very interesting. My 76 Sopru has heat running under that floor area to small vents at the end of front floor tunnel & it's useless!
    Thanks Wirrah.
But I prefer rstucke's answer & I want one of them;).
    Cheers

Then you wouldn't need the LED lights on the outside then would you,if you had one on the inside;) spoil the look.

Well thank you people. My 76 is a Microbus , so what happened to my extra under-seat heater?! Could have used one in recent days . Also it would be nice to share the faint burning smells around the bus more equally ;)

That little B has never gone off so I can only assume my brakes (and/or alternator) are excellent.

Only if it comes on when you turn the ignition on with the other dash lights. Otherwise it's not working.:(

By the way you can grab yourself an owner's manual here
