    Hello :)

Just wanted to introduce myself, before I start milking you all for your knowledge :)
My Partner Steve and I just acquired our first Kombi, we plan to fix her up and road trip when the kids get bigger.
She's a lovely Westfalia Pop top by the name of "Pearl" in reasonably good condition considering she's been parked in a paddock for a year or more. We inherited an impressive rats nest, a dream catcher and a repair list as long as my arm *sigh*, but nevertheless she's a lovely old soul with a mountain of potential.
I've been trawling through threads all day and I have already ordered parts!! Excited much ;)

Hi guys, thanks for the warm welcome :)

Here's some Pics of Pearl, it's been raining since we got her, so I haven't had her out with enough space to see get good pics of the outside.
Interior wise, she has most of her original fittings, the front seats are amazing (until you look behind the passenger side and find a rat has stripped the foam out) some of the stuff like the vinyl door panels are just too far gone to keep I think (though still good enough to use as a template ) and some hideous modern style speakers will be making an exit.

Original stove, sink and fridge (DOA) are there which we plan to build into some new replica plywood cabnitry due to damage by a certain rodent.

    Welcome.
Looks like the rust mites have been breeding successfully as well.
Just keep in mind the future days of cruising with a long straight road in front of you

You're quite right cbus, I'm slightly worried that the windshield could fall out at any moment! I have a vision in my head of taking her camping and I'm not letting a little rust (alright a lot of rust) get in my way!

That's devastating! You can tell that they were in beautiful condition :(
You know, I wonder if it's just V-DUB in general that they like. I had some of the little devils eat the battery cover right under the bonnet of my late model Golf.
I am considering investing in a Kombi Cat for protection ;)

Welcome to the KC. Enjoy your new kombi experience.where ever it leads you. Check the engine bay area for furry friends as well they love a warm spot. In and around your engine. Build a nest in there some where!
