Want a spare cable for our 1979 2L twin carb T2.
Note 2 options on Just Kampers web page: Which is correct?

    J33478 Cable length 3550 mm OR J10222 length 3765mm

Don't want to pull out to measure

    Bus Stop has 3675mm.

    I'm confused!

Not sure length but I like the ones that have a clamp that gets fitted like Mike has illustrated.
Much easier to fit into cross arm than mucking with a cut end and a spare unit can give enough room to use same cable when it breaks at carb end.
I also install the pedal end with room that it can be moved to provide slack at other end in case of breakage which is often at ends.

Not going to help too much but I know there are lowlight, cross over and 74 to 76 lengths that are all different. When they changed the linkage at the front for 76 on I don't know whether they changed them again.

There were a few other lengths for early Bays. I just quoted the late Bay versions.
