I find this a very hard post for me to write.
Dave Berry has passed away today from either a heart attack or similar.
This is far to soon in his life for us to accept at all.
His Trakka dynasty, since 1973, is well known amongst nearly all of us.
I feel incredible sadness for his children, Alex, Lil and Alister, whom I have known well from their births.
They all currently work at Trakka.
I last saw Dave and the kids on Tuesday at Trakka.
We had a great morning and he was about to attend the Brisbane show and camp at our place on the way home.
Boy, was I looking forward to that, sitting by the river catching up on old and new times.
I have nearly finished the '77 Trakka that I am restoring for him and was under it today when the news was rung through to me.
I planned to have it driveable once again for his visit next week.
    Life is fickle isn't it.
Life is short and often too short.
Sadness consumes me at this time.
    Take care everyone.
    Regards
    Graham Lees

So sorry to hear that Graham, straight between the eyes......
The industry has lost an icon and many have lost a friend.
    Bathe in the memories........
    Sad times indeed.

As Mark says "The industry has lost an icon." We are left with all the memories of owning campers.
We feel for his family in this sad time.

Very sad news indeed. I was only up at Trakka last Tuesday to pick up my Sprinter after a few repairs.

Very sad news indeed, the industry has truly lost an icon here, someone who significantly contributed to the enjoyment of Kombi's in Australia. I work in an industry that is involved closely with the Caravan and Camping Industry Association and just recieved this notification from the CCIA.
