I got the email last week and was looking into dates to go over. Tempted to go after Bus Stop (if that goes ahead) but then realised I have 2 weddings booked the 2 weeks after Bus Stop (if they go ahead) - so it's all up in the air. Looked at return trip with an inside cabin and free car transport and it was under $900. So tempted.

This is a very tempting incentive Chuck ;)I've always wanted to go back to Tassie.
We had an absolute ball on our last trip.
    Cheers,

I lived in tassie aged 14 to 23. Lucky enough to surf some great places.
    West coast Marrawah my favourite.

Marrawah was our first camp on our trip a few years back. That day the surf turned it on.........it was big with a really cold offshore wind and long Johns and booties ......in February !
We got off the Spirit and first stop was the bakery at Penguin for breakfast then stumbled upon Boat Harbour and a look at Stanley then through to Marrawah.

While you are out in the Tarkine, NW Tas, If you get to Waratah there is the site of an old mining town to the west called Luina. The roads are still there with kerbs and driveways, but everything has grown over. Lots of good free camp spots in the wilderness ( staying away from the bee hives). No facilities but there is mobile coverage which is few and far between out there.
