    Evening all…. Is there an App/website people use to help plan their trips, mainly for fuel. It’s not long till we set off in our bus for the VW Spectacular -as long as COVID doesn’t stop it (We are now in a 2week lockdown here in the Illawarra).
    Our usual 4WD we go away in does over 650kms per tank so we don’t really plan our stops. But the bus gets nowhere near that and it will be loaded up a bit. I think the mrs won’t travel more than 2hrs in it without a pit stop -so that might be the trigger for refueling stops anyways…

    thoughts….

    Probably a redundant post, now given C19 restrictions……
    Whenever we head out, we unfold a regional map and take a look.
    Probably a bit of an old approach these days but a good quality map shows all sorts of options in one hit , rather than scrolling through pages on mobile device….
    We have a collection of maps for most regions in Oz, collected from our travels.
    Corny as it may sound, they are like revisiting previous trips whenever we unfold it for our next run.
    Cheers,

    If you are an NRMA member you get free maps

    I have the following when I set off
    * maps
    * Harley Davidson road atlas
    * wiki camps app
    * GPS
    * Camping With Dogs

    I was a map collector and had heaps from the Information centres but I love this road Atlas. It’s all between the covers.
    My catch phrase “How are we off for fuel ?”

    The benefit of the NRMA map is you get the “big” picture.

    The benefit of the HD road atlas is it lists cool pubs to drop in to.

    Carole was intending to take a paper map on our Bathurst trip, but forgot, and whinged on more than one occasion - “Now, if I had my map…….” :D

    I bought some steel pockets off @Gerry and Robyn in Mallacoota that bolt nicely to the seat pedestals. Side of the passenger and front of the driver.
    This allows me to keep the maps in the T3 all the time.

    Left maps at home too many times

    Even my work falcon has an old road atlas behind the seat. Easier than google maps and works without power and phone reception.
