Hey guys I am new to Kombi forums and was wondering how you would go about putting the 'V' front on a bay model kombi. I have not owned a kombi and do not owned one but I was just wondering how people take off the grill and modify the front of the kombi. I have seen a few of these on the internet and I really like the look although they are often hated on. I am not performing this haha I don't even have the money to buy a kombi yet but I'm really curious as to how you could do this.

    Thanks :)

The best way I have found is to buy a splitty.

A Splitty is a Splitty and a Bay is a Bay, unless its a Brazilian?

Better to do it to a Hiace, which won't actually devalue the vehicle, than a Bay....:)

Got to agree with all the above Tadgh and perhaps when you have put your hard earned cash down for your own kombi you might think twice about de-valuing it. Each to their own I guess.

The beautiful thing about kombis is the way each one is so differant...
If you want your bus to look like an older model...go for it...
I would not do it...but thats just me

There's a T4 on eBay with the V front. Fugly is an understatement. 2 tone looks good but leave the V.

    Hi Tadgh,
Every Kombi has its own unique personality , go with what ever scheme you like ? Personally I wouldn't put the V on a bay but I have seen it done :umm: if you want the V buy yourself a Splitty as Brad suggested . Good luck with what ever you choose to do ! :)

    Cheers Stu

By the way. That was your first and only post.
As you can see we are all pretty opinionated when it comes too that but PLEASE dont let that put you off.
We are genuinly happy and helpful most of the time. So certainly come back with further questions as you go on your journey.

Being from Brisbane you should get along to dubs by the Abby coming up at the end of the.month too.

That's not what he means Barney. He wants to paint the V on a bay front. Like this. About the biggest sin one can commit.

Nope. I think Barney interpreted correct.
They say 'take the grill off and modify the front'.
By the time that is done easier to. By a split.

Thanks everyone for the replies haha yeah I can see why people are against it as it is 'messing with nature' and if/when I do get a kombi probably will be happy enough with how it is :)
