Hey all !! Wots everyone's feelings on the benefits of having the vintage speed system ?? Is there any fuel saving or increase in power ???

Depends on which unit and what motor you're putting it on.
Independant research shows there is very little if any gain on a stock set up.
You get a nicer sound out of the engine.
They look nice even though you can barely see it when it's installed.
I personally would spend my money elsewhere.

They are stainless and will last longer

They also have flanged connections which was a huge d'oh moment for Mr VW especially on type 1's

If going with stock get a flange kit and ceramic coated

If you have a warm to hot motor you need more than stock so vintage speed is a good option especially if type 1 and centre mount carb as they have correct preheat pipe take off arrangement

I considered vintage speed for my new motor - but given that it's basically stock - I realised there's about a bazillion other places I could spend the additional $500 on the bus.
I got a good quality stock exhaust setup from VW heritage for about $250 incl delivery and fitting kit.
That other $500 I've saved will go to new shocks.

I've got one on my beetle, works ok. Don't know whether I would buy another, lots of other cheaper options out there. Mines got a rattle in it now when cold, it's been on for 5 years or so.
