Voltage regulator

    Hi People
    had my voltage regulator fail on the 69 bus , so i replaced the regulator with a brand new Bosch unit (auto electrician tested system advised the old regulator was faulty )
    but now i the new one in i have a generator warning light on my dash that i never had before .
    anyone have an idea why ?
    don't really want to pay the sparky another $$$ to come back and tell me its something simple :confused:
    any help would be appreciated

    Did you fit the new reg or sparkie?
    If he fitted he should have ensured it was operating correctly.

    Light on would indicate no charging.
    Have you tested when running for charging from Genny.?
    Assuming it is stock and not alternator conversion fitted

    I would suggest polarising or motoring the generator, that has worked for me in the past when light stayed on

    After removing wires from regulator to generator, To polarize a generator, connect a jumper wire from the (DF) terminal on the generator to the generator frame. Remove the fan belt, then connect a wire from the positive terminal on the battery to the (D+) terminal on the generator. The generator shaft should start to spin.
