    Hi.

Does anyone have an opinion on these guys "Vw Engineering" out at Laidley/Plainlands.

$2600 - no more than $3000 for a full engine rebuild?

    Thanks,

    Kate :)

You get what you pay for and I wouldn't expect too much for $3000

Got a new engine put in by him in my 75 panel, quoted for $2850, ended up paying $4700. Took him a week to do it. But heck, my beauty is back on the road.

or gets you all the way home - never heard a good report on his/their work - check everything over as has been known to hide things and then refuse to rectify but if you've driven it away then all the best to get any stated warranty issue fixed.

Has anyone had recent work done by this guy? I'm also looking at a full engine replacement....upgrading a 1600 to an 1835 but before making the commitment want some recent reviews. Please PM me info if you have it.
    Thanks. :)

Mods, Just let me know if you want this changed to a PM.
There have been a few people who have used them now and costs have blown out rather quickly and without a great deal of notice.
I have no idea of how long the engines lasted and how well they ran however.

As a reference of someone in Queensland on who you could talk to my picks would be either Peter from Custom Vee Dub in Stafford.
Or Matt Berry Motorsport on the sunshine coast. Google will give you both numbers.

I would not be putting an 1835 with slip in 88's into a kombi

machine in 88's is a different story - but unless you have some vintage kick, machine the case and put 94's in and get a 1916
