Went to the Paul Kelly Making Gravy concert before Christmas in the Domain.

Yes - he was brilliant but the stand out support act was Courtney Barnett.

Hadn’t heard of her so googled up and said “indie” and I though “help me - a dead boring filler set”

How wrong - this girl ROCKS!
In the vein of Nivana and Iggy Pop for a 3 piece she blew me away.
Black singlet, jeans, boots and an amp cranked up to 11 - this girl obviously enjoys making noise.

That all said - what I like about Paul Kelly is the way he respects his supports.
Invites them back on stage during his set and that are all there at the end.

Saw him last year with Steve Earle at the Opera Hous and will see his Christmas tour next year

In the vein of this I have also been getting into some blue grass and mandolin stuff.

One of my favourites is Uncle Monk.
This Tommy Ramone in a whole new light

The other band is Adrian Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds
They do a lot of covers in a different “country “ style
    See who knows this one

Not so much for listening, but what a musical extravaganza. The 2Cellos are concert trained musicians from Croatia and Serbia (and damned good too) who also have a soft spot for heavy metal. They played to a packed Sydney Opera House in 2016 (I think) . Just love talented musicians. Here is a tribute to one of our greatest Australian rock bands, complete with Angus' dying cockroach.
