After getting some , driving , and with the prospect of showers ,meaning couldnt possibly finish the gazebo construct on rear deck. Idle hands and a curious naivity following some brains trust wisdom I thought i investigate the dash cluster with the intention to fault find the fault in the faulty speedometer. Advised that degree of difficulty is moderate so after a litte fiddling i had cluster in idle hand. A quick perusal ,voila! There is a small shaft running through the barrel of wheels that had dropped out from one side. Line it up and a 'light' tap, turned it over and an even 'lighter' tap on exposed end. Tick. Install is the reverse well almost , slow and steady and back it went. A small road test and now i know how fast and how far, plus trip working. Marvellous.
Hugs and kisses to the kc brains trust again.
    Evan and Janine.

Evidently he has hit a raw nerve with what many, many people think and feel as to where the politically correct agenda has sent the USA. It's where we're heading as well o_O  And no sense in continuing the tour in Egypt of de nile.

It may awaken the appointed leaders of this nation on both sides to get their act(s) together and for the Senate to do similar ..... it's not a case of it has to be my way & object to every sensible proposal to get this great land back on track ....... it is what is best for the nation/country NOT SELF GLORIFICATION = Tough Decisions need to be made and not pander to the minority screw money wasted on Royal Commissions and Commissions of Enquiry .... Just Do It the age of entitlement needs to end.

And ALL Politicians need to stop screwing with Superannuation rules UNLESS they apply to them = Discrimination by the employed against their employers

I was simply commenting on the fact that I quite like the sense of humour of putting a sticker like that on an Oz Kombi.......

And that most "expert" commentators didn't actually think it would happen...o_O

One of the many great things about KC, is the lack of political discussion ;).....so, to continue this thread on track:

What did anyone do to their Kombi today?

That's a worthwhile investment for asset security, and occupant safety Mel. ;)

All fitted, or still in a box awaiting installation?

Fitted one of those the other day before I went to Forster for a quick few days, very good investment but I will still carry around a fire extinguisher as well.

I drove into town for a meeting, and noticed the alternator light had a slight glow, which got bright at idle when stopped at lights.

Then went out for a while, but glowed again for while, before going out on the way home.

Perhaps it detected the hand of Trump getting closer to hovering over the ability to push that red button in his new role!

But enough of world politics, as I really feel this is not the the thread, forum, or place, for such discussion. ;) (Maybe it's just me that wants to escape the real world, and just read happy Kombi Karma here at KC)

Is my alternator on the way out? :(

Are they dual circuit brakes? If so, could one brake switch be a bit 'sticky' inside - not closing properly when you apply the brakes, then clears itself?

    Just a thought.

Recent speedo repair ticking over nicely, now to the brake lights!, and d/s 1/4 glass may just need some of the rust that holds passenger side firmly open in any posi. Doh.

Took bus for a sprint up the M1 then the Hunter Valley Expressway/New England Highway to Scone to see the first Hawker Hurricane fly in Australia since 1944. A truely fabulous day of flying displays by a number of other 1920's - 1940's period aircraft including de Havilland Moths, Spitfire, Mustang, Wirraway, Avenger, Trojan, Caribou, etc etc. Just bloody fabulous, and all restored to better than original condition and maintained in superb flying condition by Australian aviation specialists - yet another example of what this clever country can do. And bus did what was expected of it up and back. Got the feeling bus enjoyed the outing too.
