Tried to fit myself into the engine bay to reach up to put a seat belt anchor in the Express. Had to swap positions with Dno with his longer arms! New driving lights, welded and fitted back the back rack and other odds and ends for the trip next week. Starting to get that pre travel jitters...... no where is that word again......

Every journey starts with the first step, (away from the front door.)

The rest, is the next adventure....... ;)

Slightly altered, usually does 9'6" in the TP, this is 10' so some adjustments to thickness and width through the middle but otherwise a TP. Design based on endless summer 2 to vaguely match the kombi!! Love it

Squawking front upper suspension bushes were starting to annoy me, so I figured it was time to do some front end, wheel bearings and brake maintenance (change brake fluid)

When the Powerflex urethane bushes were first installed some years ago the kit and instructions stated to use the supplied sachets of Copperkote lube.

In the light of experience learned in Canada, Christopher from T3 Technique recommended CV-2 grease so, I reckon if it works in the Canadian environment that's good enough for me.

Once removed and the bush assemblies were cleaned I was surprised see scouring on the stainless sleeves, I machined a shallow groove 5mm in from each end of the sleeves using radius tip

tool the theory being when the assembly is pack with grease the grooves might act as weather seal...........time will tell ?

As the front tires were wearing evenly (good) I machined up a mandrel to screw onto the wheel stud then using my precision machine level I marked off the camber angle before removing the
    upper arm.

Parted another today with the help of my fellow VW Picker Scott. Parts will be for sale and available at Nationals or before. Looks are deceiving in pics, it was a mess. Engine cooked about 7 years ago and lots of rust.
