Here is a few of my series of videos on YouTube to give you a little idea of thus bus
Had trouble getting the thing to idle and start nicely. Tried 3 different carby’s and still no joy. So out with the old industrial and in with a new industrial. Swapped magneto to dizzy and coil with 12v alternator, flywheel and starter conversion including bell housing grind!!
Now runs like a second hand kombi!
You know who, its Andy Who.
Ah Andy Ho, I will be at his shop tomorrow
Tried to replace the makeshift gas bottle cover that came after I lost my good one going to Old Bar.
I was getting a bit attached to my cardboard cover!
With this one donated by @rstucke & tidied up by panel beater. Was just a fail after fail day. Many visits to Bunnings & eventually just gave up & went to the pub to live & fight another day
Don't throw that cardboard away yet David.
Where does the problem seem to be?
The bottom lugs were not spaced the same. My fault for not double checking. Then the lockset sat 1mm higher so had to trim the keeper. Then lockset would not engage the keeper as I'd not put the 2mm packers (which my original never had) under the lockset & then my new lockset failed.
On the weekend, I installed a bluetooth battery monitor on the aux battery.
This was after replacing the dual battery isolator the weekend before, the one from SCA was no longer working, and the aux battery went flat.
So, easy install, bluetooth to the phone and can see charge, time run etc, the real reason is that it sends alerts to the phone if the battery level drops.
User selection on what level the alert is sent, 40,50,60 percent etc, really useful.
Will now install one on the starting battery as well.
Paid the High Top a visit today. Paint done, next gets cleaned up & buff. Looks great, cant wait to get it home & put back together.
Looking good Phil
Won round two with the gas bottle cover. Sits real neat. A big thank you to @rstucke for the donated lid.
Started unpacking Kombi after a shopping trip to Adelaide on Tuesday. Ended up bringing 2 wooden boxes of lithium battery cells, around 100kg each, 10 x 250w solar panels, second hand from Tindo solar, and the groceries from an Aldi shopping trip. Must have been the groceries that weighed the Kombi down, not so much of an issue with the hill climbing, but a big issue with slowing down at every corner on the Chain of Ponds road back to Mannum. Where it was normally a throw back to 3rd or second and power out of the corner, it was throw back to 3rd, stand on the brakes, double clutch back to second and another stand on the brakes ..... Poor old Kombi, it was tad brake smelly after we reached Birdwood
Bet you wished you had regen
Not going with the Camo Look?
That was going to be a wrap in all separate pieces
“Was”, or “is”?
I hope is! I'd love to see it in camo wrap.
Will have to wait & see
Separate names with a comma.
