I did the same with a Pertronix electronic ignition set in 2011.
They don't like having the leads reversed, I found.

I fitted a new one in December only to have it fail for no reason on Christmas Eve.
Pertronix sent a warranty replacement and now that one seems to be working OK.

Had a very busy Saturday - many social activities and no time to even glance at the forum. So Sunday morning we were racing off to Boondall when "HIP63" pulled along side at the lights and told me Dubs was off due to rain. So we went for a cruise anyway to Redcliffe to check out the Bee Gees Way and have our picnic. Saw quite a few other "lost" VWs as well. Even saw the Mini club driving by with about 20 Minis and a few mokes.

Hey Martin it took about 5 and half litres with the first fill everything was dry. I lost some oil fixing the oil leaks and went through 5 litres as i got another leak from the external filter but the next oil change with new filter should take 4 and half litres.

Today after much deliberation over the past 6 months put the SC Ute on the market, just hope he behaves himself until he finds a new owner.

Hey can I ask where you sourced the modulator from? Would be good to have a spare for my bus. They are NLA as far as I know.

Fitted two original r'n'r seat, spring loaded retaining pins.....made up a couple of sexy "stays" to stop the poptop hatch from closing when driving at speed....replaced the crankcase breather hose that was hard, brittle & full of cracks..gave her a wash & went for a nice long drive with my co-pilot Kirra. Cheers, Mark
