Kids playing football is one of life’s pleasures
A brief visit from Jethro this morning.....sorry we didn’t have more time mate, we had folks arriving for lunch within the hour.....
....then a nice long lunch with really good friends....a couple of great reds, heaps of proper belly laughs with political correctness thrown out the window.
Just good, harmless fun between friends...
Great to catch up Mark, glad your doing bit better!! Enjoying some surfs and spending some time in your neck of the woods for a few days, you live in an awesome area!!
Made and laid all the bricks ourselves. Currently just finished the roof on the extension.
Old pic of the first part of the build.
Wow looks great. 2nd story would have been hard work getting the bricks up there.
Bought a new Corolla for Dianne (yesterday), about due as she has had the last one since 2007. Great reliable car and never broke down just servicing and tyres for the entire 165k klms. The new one has a lot to live up to however they are chalk and cheese in comparison for power style and functions. Need an IT course to fully understand it all its a 2020 Corolla ZR in Silver Pearl with Black roof very nice.
The new Carollas are very nice.
Watching my bees do “bee stuff” .........
Went and checked up on an 83 yo Polish friend and handed over the June edition of Wheels so he can read then pass it on to a friend of his
He also needed some more parts for his 24v Scooter/Car/Bike/Trike projects that he builds & gives away to kids whose parents can't afford to buy them one. As he is computer illiterate he asks me to find what he is after and then I helped him spend $400.00 in the process .
Got a message that the 68T 26mm 25H Sprockets are out of stock for the order to be fulfilled for above mentioned spend.
Refund provided with rest to ship .
Found alternate supplier (previously used also) for the sprockets so ordered and got an unexpected discount so saved $12.00 so Happy it was cheaper still = that'll pay for his Friday afternoon drinks @ the pub John will be happy about that
Well - after some delays, #2 finally had his day.
He was supposed to get married in April - but that didn't happen
They ended up with a back yard wedding instead
This time - the formal action took place at the Hydro Majestic.
Thought it was going to be terrible weather - but ended up a cracker day.
It was about 4 deg C and misty as.
Came out beautiful afterwards
Unfortunately #3 was stuck in Melbourne, but he was present on the screen
This made me happy
Lovely photos Barry!
Momentous & special. Congratulations to all.
WMMH - got the wife off my back and did her (ok our) tax return(s) ...... refunds assessed for her to spend
Some improvements over last year through the myGov system/link to the ATO and prefill ..... both done, checked & lodged within 30 minutes
Got a full time job today doing home maintenance. Made me VERY happy. Not on the scrap heap yet. Using all those skills I've learnt over the last 40 years. I'm 62. Posted a photo of this atrium roof I built 17 yrs ago at our divorce home to get a look in for the job. It worked!! That's 13mm grey smoked lami glass. Frame has so many angles & no putty anywhere.
Prior to the glass/pitch. Flat shade cloth, worn out wet flat timber.
I'll probably be less trouble @oldman now I've got a job.
Congrats. on the new job David.
Nice to have a skill set that does not become redundant.
We’ll wait and see
Good luck with the new venture.....at least you know where to buy maintenance bits’n’pieces....
Like the build. Few complex angles in that lot. Less trouble?? We will see!
What made me happy today ?
Our son, 28, asked me to drop him at a local beach just before we were about to have dinner........
Why does this make me happy ? His close friend is struggling and asked for help.
Rowan did not blink.......and recognised his mate needed company.....of course I obliged.
In my youth, we would have been expected to “suck it up, princess....”
I am proud, proud that my son wants to help and also proud that his mates can rely on him for support.
Oh, and Ro has only just returned from the US and doesn’t have wheels yet......
WOW ...... that’s brilliant Mark.
Unfortunately I understand that world far too much.
Congrats to your son
It's better than nice that the new world we live in & the kids we taught whom are now adults have so much more compassion than the world we were brought up in.
Diversity recognised....compassion given...support given. Great job from Son & Dad. @oldman
