This made me really happy this morning: After too many years of below average rainfall and drought, and just a matter of weeks ago, when the fires got to within 1100 metres of the property, and I only had around 7,000 litres of water to defend the property, when I would have preferred to have at least 15,000 litres, this pic is the overflow pipe from our 91,000 litre rainwater tank, which is now full. Happy days!
Hey Chris should have mentioned that generally before 8am notices means it's coming by courier and after 9am by the postie .... at least it's the way it happens up here and the wife is happy to receive her parcel
Great to see the areas that have had little rain during spring & summer are now getting some ..... an old work associate from the mid/late 1970's lives on a property in Young NSW and they are smiling with the rain filling their dams and giving the sown crops a much needed drink
Terrible weather in South Gippsland this weekend so busy making new curtains for our bus. Many thanks Lyana for your skills and patience. Have a good set if anyone wants the old ones. Happy Mickey
A good “still water” prone paddle on Pittwater... A regular run I do with a mate who is trying to lose weight. 2km against an outgoing tide and 20knt westerly made the 2ks feel like 5 by the time we finished. A wallow in the shallows , then back home for a coffee...... Great way to spend the morning. Cheers, Mark
At the coffee cafe this morning and Sunday cyclist we talk to were still there stirring each other ..... passed greetings and one we hadn't seen questioned another's comment about the other car then the one with a Polo GTI tells the returned absentee about the Golf GTI 40 - leads me to explain that I had to get a couple of cases of Reschs Pilsener from NSW back to Qld so went down bought the beer and bought the car to get the beer home = 3 who hadn't heard the story cracked up. Banter and $hit stirring continued. The I asked returned absentee if he was the one who the cafe owner told us had been infected with CoVid19 which he had but is fully recovered ..... yup his level of discussion hasn't been lost either. All these guys are car fanatics and easy to talk to. Then to cap it off the one who owns a bike shop gets on his bike to leave stops and then a "Laugh In" and falls sideways of his bike ..... too much Gin last night perhaps
Back in the water for first time since around January, only boardies needed, 25 degrees and the water just as warm, a few waves to be had. That’s made me happy today
Gotta Love the Pittwater Except when it’s wind on tide coming out of the river, that is not my thing !!!
Fair call Kazz........hadn’t thought of that, however working to windward would have to count as exercise in those breezes this morning ! Hi to Mike..... Cheers, Mark
Turning this on Friday... Into this today... For a customer who wanted a rustic stand for her orchids. Will either paint it or laquer over old rust and paint. See what she says tomorrow. Total purchases... welding rods and grinding discs.
Finally, Debbie and I went for an exercise drive with Mango down to Sharkies Beach in Wollongong. A very relaxing afternoon with an ice cream to finish off. Had a big smile as soon as I got behind the wheel - so infectious!
Found those bloody bolts I lost a few weeks ago, happy now Funny how you think 'Id better put these ones somewhere safe' & then loose em
