it IS an Aussie country buggy, its NOT a 181 / 182 kubel trekker etc.
they were built in Australia, there are a few in the filipines (?) but most have been crushed or rotted away.
its very collectable, and worth restoring. post it on AVD buggy bill will be VERY interested in this find.

I have a friend with a working one of these in his shed in the Adelaide Hills. He tells me there were only about 900 made and there's only a couple of hundred left, according to a register.

I think we sold about half a dozen at our dealership in the sixties mostly to Cooplicurripa station, they performed well but the dust used to destroy the engines,I remember many trips up there as an apprentice for service or breakdowns.A lot of the workers also used beetles as their car because of the dirt roads(tracks) which were impassable by anything except land rovers or Jeeps during wet weather.

I really want a country buggy one day, I love them and always have to wipe the excess saliva from around my mouth when I spot one at meets.

If we all had the same tastes the world would be a boring place! But I hope many others share your opinion - it gives me more chance of eventually finding one .... ;)
