It is. But when I first moved to the ACT, and they still had drive in theatres, they had something else I’d never seen before. A speaker to hang on a window on one side of the car, and an electric blow heater, to hang on the other side of the car!
x4 .... last drive in I went to was Erina NSW ..... had a great little set of shops next door - supermarket + butcher + greengrocer where I did my weekly shop ..... now there's Erina Fair
Skyline drive in at Taren Point. Just down the road from my childhood abode. Long gone. The screen was an iconic structure for many years. Last movie I saw there was "Gone In Sixty Seconds". Somewhat earlier (much earlier) was Mary Poppins at the Matraville Skyline. Oddly enough there is still a drive in just down the road at Heddon Greta.
......and I’m wondering how long it will be before some entrepreneur realises that a Drive in is a COVID safe way of getting folks, en masse, to pay to watch movies again Cheers, Mark
“Movin Car” has already done that.No infrastructure required, just an empty car park....... https://www.movincar.com.au/movies/...MIg9Lv-ezq6wIVlRx9Ch1LaQzxEAAYASAAEgJ9gPD_BwE
They were really effective............ a bit deadly, but really effective at heating a small room, along with replacing any oxygen with nasty fumes.
....silk mantle lpg lanterns.....great bit of equipment and a time honoured ritual to set one up. Cheers, Mark
