Brings back memories of camping @ Lake Macquarie & Long Jetty in the Cargill Caravanette then also using them to go prawning dragging the net.
I've got an Hitachi (I think is the brand) or could be Toshiba brand one in the drawer ..... it's a small one in a leather pouch.
Did you ever go to the roller skating rink at Long Jetty ? Hearts were broken there...... Cheers, Mark
The old FYRSIDE at home and I remember the silk mantle lanterns. Like you say the ritual of lighting one up at our camp site at Kioloa all those years back. Lucky we are still here to remember. Love this forum !!
Just to say I remember all the above with the rest of you. This was taken out of the 90's camper trailer last weekend as I cleaned the trailer for sale. Got to be 25 yrs old. Cheers
I loved my kerosene pressure lamp. Used it to search for late night science experiments while at school. Not sure where it ended up.
Wish I had my dads kerosene pressure flame torches & lamps. Would be quite the treasure (or trash!) now. Cheers
In 1975 I started flight school & we used circular 'slide rules' with a vector plotter on the other side. S**t.......some 45 years ago for both of us. Cheers
Mark, never got to the skating rink @ Long Jetty ..... possibly too young and having fun in the water
Had them at high school....but they were wasted on me back then.......it took an interest in building stuff to motivate me to learn maths......then it became easier to understand. Cheers, Mark
