    I remember those too, Les….
There was a lever that you flipped sideways to turn the water on which also turned the gas on.
Always went “whoosh” and startled me every time, even though I knew it was coming……
    Cheers,

They fixed that problem by puting it in plastic bottles, magic stuff as long as you clean the metal properly and clean the excess off afterwards.

As a country bumpkin I never managed to get over the "whoosh" when she lit, i used to get her to light it before I went in and I wa only allowed short showers because Dot was a pensioner.

Sirocco- Australian Crawl, was re released on vinyl a few weeks ago for its 40th anniversary. Weird, I have it on vinyl, tape and on cd as well as a downloaded copy on my computer and phone. The record still sounds best when I need to block out the neighbour singing.

I’ve just turned our tv on……by manually pushing the “on” switch !
When was the last time you did that ?
Billie, or rather “Snortn’ Norton”……her evil alter ego, ( 14 month Boxer), destroyed the remote today, while I was cleaning the house.
I tried pushing her nose but it didn’t work ;)
    Cheers,

    I remember all of those.

But that was because we only had 3 or 5 channels of TV, unlike todays free to air, a zillion pay TV channels, streaming services, youtube channels etc etc….

If you wanted to watch TV in the 70’s, you couldn’t help but have seen most of those, at least once.

That list missed the best TV show of that era, from 1975-1983. :(

I'll see you a Get Smart, Ripping Yarns and a Fawlty Towers. But everyone knows that MPFC was the best.
