    Ask my daughter.
About six months ago a kombi or two pics appeared on her website.
Then this week a few more.
What has that got to do with me you might ask?
Well my nickname was Zedman due to the fact that back in 2004 I did all the wrong things and bought a 1979 280zx from a pensioner in Dunkeld in pouring rain.
Got it brought home and in the shed watched it creak and groan and dry out, when bits literally started falling off it and all the rust spots appeared.
So then we bought another Z with the aim of fixing the first 280 and then another, when a friend got divorced and we scored an 82 targa top model, which had more rust than metal, mainly due to being made from recycled iron. Then we bought an unfinished project and in summer of 2005 did a full strip and bare metal respray repainted in silver over saxony black with 9 clear coats.
Then we got Zedman a 1979 mark one manual, and did a Candy toffee apple red over super silver respray for $kilobucks which is still under wraps in my shed with original drivers service handbook and 105000 genuine km.
So I suspect my number one daughter wants a kombi project for her wedding and ended up sending me texts with car sales.com and fleabag Bargains for sale.
Dad I will help you paint it she quipped, Yeah right.
so shed clean up time. Must measure the hoist to see if one of these box like kombis fits and re learn about Das auto European spare parts.
All the pads rotors filters plugs, spares for rice burners will get dumped in a box as we retool to European specs and the inevitable arrival of someone's pre loved kombi project.
Out comes rust stop, fishoilene, etch primer new angle grinders and all spray guns to be cleaned and made ready.
Class a solvent, etch primer, spray putty, wet and dry, prep solv, primer filler, mig wire and old clobber to wear, gloves masks beanie.
Glad the shed has new led flouros, cheaper than the 500 watt flood lights.
And it's winter so no painting until humidity drops.
    Just rust repair and sanding.
Oh and wife says for anything new you buy something must go!
So it's either my Carlos Sainz, 1989 GT4 group A or the 1967 Toyota Corona 1600s or my 1979 280zx,
    .
The 1974 JDM. Toyota Corona GT stays.

    watch this space.

Anyone want to swap me a kombi?

Yeah…….. my daughter wanted a samba back in 2011….. she showed me one on the computer priced at $80,000
I should of listened to my 12 year old back then and would have saved some money ha ha
Good luck hunting but beware as if you put two early volkswagens together they will breed
    Be warned ZaZ

    Hi Zaz,
A big welcome & good luck with the shed. Maybe just tell her a Kombi doesn't fit under the shed door to get it in;).
    Have fun spending her inheritance!
    Cheers
