    Hello all,

I have a splitty with front bay disc brakes and rear bay drums.

Can anyone in SA modify splitty rims to go straight on the bay brakes to keep the splitty hubcaps?

    Thanks
    Andre

Are there any adapter plates which are legal in SA?
    Does anyone know?
I was thinking perhaps it is possible to weld bay centres inside existing splitty centres?

I seen old style dome hubcaps are available to suit bay wheels including type 3 vw and 68 onwards beetle

Back in the 70's was bit of a norm to change centre &/or width of steel wheels  ....... see if you can glean anything from this google search ;) (or just search for wheel rim repairs Adelaide) - https://www.google.com.au/search?q=....69i57j0l5.17482j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

matching centre dia with wide 5 and bay could be an issue

Theres guys around who do wheel rim conversion for around $100 + each. Just got to find some one local who could do it.
Easier to use adspter plates an put back on wide 5 rims if thats the look your after.
John sherman at volksconversion in Q.l.d is the man to speak to. He does it all.
Not sure if its road legal or needs engineering in s.a. to be legal though.
There is a vw club s.a. you may want to join an ask local guys who would be more up to date an have contacts.
    Hope this helps you out.
    Cheers
