We were humbled, honored and privileged to help fulfill a young mans wish granted by the starlight foundation today. These guys deal with some seriously sick kids and we had an awesome day looking after young Nick. This kid has had a rough time with illness and asked the starlight foundation for two wishes, to ride in a Kombi and to surf with his idol Mick Fanning. We picked up Nick and his family and drove to North Steyne so they could meet and have a paddle with Mick. I cannot commend Mick Fanning highly enough, he took the boys out and spent a good hour and a half surfing with them and was a true champion, a top bloke. A further surprise was ahead when we took the boys to the local Rip Curl shop where Mick gave young Nick one of his boards he used recently on the Portugal leg of the tour, the board was also signed by some of the current top surfers competing . Had a great day, even got in the water too. It was great meeting young Nick, an absolutely great kid.

Thanks all, was a great day for sure. Was a bit of a reality check too, no matter how much I complain about stuff, I've not had a hard as time as this young bloke. As a good mate says, life is short and you've got to make the most of your time, this rang true and I think we all need to be out in our kombis more and surf more too ! Would do it again in a heart beat although the boss (me) did make me go to work after but I've been on a bit of a high since !
