    Hi guys
Well I know it may seem a little early in the year but time does tend to get away from us !
So I'd like to make a suggestion for a Xmas camp/Run to the hills for this year !
Shaz & I went to Canungra showgrounds last weekend for a picnic & thought it would be a great spot to hold an event !
I rang & spoke to the caretaker today & asked if they were busy in October or November & they have 2 weekends available in November at the moment & would be more than happy to have the Kombi Club stay there & can keep an area aside exclusively for us if needed !
    The weekends available are 19th-20th & 26th-27th
    Powered sites= $15 p/person or a couple for $25
    Unpowered sites=$10 p/person
(Unpowered sites are down by the creek, nice spot)
    Pet friendly (only on leads)
    Open fires
    Toilets
    Showers (gold coin)
    BBQ area (gold coin)
It's a great spot with running creek /swimming hole
Town centre & Pub a short walk away

If your interested in coming along let me know on here or send me a PM , that way i can give the camp ground an idea on numbers ! I'd suggest we get in early as they do book up pretty quick ! :D
Look forward to catching up !!!:p

I'll volunteer a camp oven roast or two! Maybe entice some sunshine coast cruisers for this event?

Sounds great Paul ! I've got loads of fire wood for the fire & maybe we could entice Marcus & Tricia to provide the music ??? :p
It's only a couple hrs drive for both sunny coast crew & Byron crews ! So hopefully we can get a few Kombi's at this one !!!:)

I reckon we would be keen. Good test of the brakes getting down the cunungra road.

Not so bad coming from our way Brad ! Only if you come either over the Mountain from Oxenford or Nerang way then it will definitely test the brakes out ! Plenty of breeze thru those Safari's thou !!

I started coming down it in the bus once and turned around half way.
Then did another time in the subaru with 3 mates on motorbikes. I had a great drive but those three were a bit white knuckled afterwards.

Your a good fella Stu. I don't care what anyone else says!

I have put it in my email just to throw a different medium out there.
It will be a good test by then to see how small we can camp (unless of course I am still lugging the big tent around).
We are thinking an extended road trip for Busstop 2017 so I am thinking of how to simplify life a bit.

I thought the Xmas camp would be a good test for your new drive away tent Brad ???? :)

Still working out what to do. We are planning on taking a month off next easter if we can both swing it for work. Driving down to Melbourne then along the South coast and up for Busstop and home. So I need something a bit quicker to set up if we are going to be doing a lot of it.

And Col - The big mushroom thing is awesome but still takes about 30minutes to set up. I am thinking a pull out awning and couple of little throw out tents. Keep internal space as much as we can instead of carrying too much gear.

Not to sure yet. Got to make sure we can get the time off first. And work out if we take the dog with us and kennel him for Busstop.

    Always a dilemma.

Recon pull out awnings n walls good for quick stops
Six man dome tent pretty easy to put up.

I have one if you want to try it?

You may have to get a teardrop like Tim n Sasa ?

I did think about a tear drop but when we are in Melbourne / Sydney I would be wanting secure parking to leave kombi and tram / bus it so a trailer would be a problem.
Plus I would have to fabricate up towing hitches and I don't really want to go down that path until I have finished the house and have a proper garage and time on my hands.
Thanks for the offer on the tent. I will let you know. My brother has a couple of 4 man ones he uses that I may borrow. That way I can destroy it and give it back to him like he always does my camping stuff when he borrow it.
