Thanks I'll Google Symonds n Clarke. I've never heard of any vehicle transport companies so wouldn't know a reputable one. Just got a online quote from prixcar? Has anyone heard of?

I have, but not sure about about their reputation, But if their names suggest what it seems to, they would have to be good to survive. But as I mentioned before ,stay with well known companies that
specialise in this field.Yellow Pages should help .and when you make your decisions , make sure they have ins to cover any damage and you take out insurance
    as well.
    Good luck
    Chris.

Compare your quote with CEVA - https://cevacarcarrying.com.au/

Make sure read and understand the T&C's of anyone you engage to transport ..... note they DO NOT include insurance as part of the quote or service and thus you need to ensure you have sufficient cover provided prior to shipment.

I have used CEVA and they were brilliant.

That said there is a recent post where some one had a pop top blow off mid transit and it is not covered by CEVA insurance.

If it is a camper make sure the roof is tied down.

Ive fully insured the van including for transit with Shannons so thats not a problem. Ive looked up CEVA and they do business online with a contact phone number for the Philliphines, Seems ok but they are saying online 14 business days for delivery which is 3 weeks. No problem but when I called the bloke doesn't speak English very well and was unable to tell me what happens if im away when van due to be delivered or whether there is additional costs for storage. I asked for an Australian depot number and have called and called with no reply, Am I worrying unnecessarily please help? Ive paid for van and the seller is going away so I need to organise pickup Monday. Was also hoping to speak with someone to explain pop tops issues (ie ive been advised they can blow off if van transported backwards)??

Ask the seller to run at least 2 tie down straps over the top of the poptop front and centre .
They can be secured to both sills but preferably from inside van and thru a partially open window or will pass thru seal on sliding door.
Being a flat profile they don't prevent door from closing.

There are cases of poptop lifting in transit and then being ripped off.

And ensure instructions to driver include checking the straps.

Insist on talking to a call centre operator that speaks fluent English.

Thanks Chris and I did see that you mentioned them Friday morning. I missed it at the time and read back over later. They are the only company I'm aware of that provide closed in transport. I'm interested in peoples opinions on this? Is it worth the extra cost? I have paid a bomb for the kombi! I'm waiting hear back from them. But I imagine there service will be alot more. So far I've found a couple of companies approx $1300 Perth to gc. Fairly reasonable. I want them to assure me kombi transported facing forwards before booking but wondering if there's other concerns with transporting that would warrant paying extra for closed in shipping.

Me personally, i would pay it just for peace of mind.If it closed in transport then u will know it is safe.no good going cheap and having something bad happen to it then having to fight to get compo. You have paid out a whole lot of cash already so now i the time to protect that investment.go with what is considered to be one of the best .
See if they have a forum you can look at thats a good starting point.

I would love too, but it's a very very long way and would cost more in the long run. Not to mention I'm not mechanically minded at all. Shhhhh lol

What ever the cost ,it will be worth it ,going with a company that has a good reputation is usually the best way to go.and in long run ,cheaper.

Maybe you should fly over there and drive it back.you could call it a bonding trip.
By the time you got back you would know all about it.All its little quirks and idiosyncrasies. And the best part of it all that tac tac sound coming from nack would be instilled in your mind forever.Just like the rest of us.....hha.
