    Fact and figures

For those who wish to compare, I drove a distance of 1875 klm and spent $290.65 on fuel at an average price of $1,57 per litre. We used a total of 207 litres.

This equates to 15.5 L/100Km or 25.67 mpg in the old scale. Somebody else may have a more accurate way of determining economy since I noticed that Motor-Mouth's conversion calculator gave the mile per gallon as 18.8 Imperial gallons.

I pre-determined the trip to cost between $350 - $400, so was very pleased with the final result:D Even with fuel at $3 a litre, it would only cost $621 to complete the same trip. For a once a year holiday, that's quite cheap compared to having to stay everywhere in a motel if you're driving a small car:)
