So after a few jobs finished on our bus we were having the normal beers and chips in the shed Monday night patting ourselves on the back.

And just a couple of arty farty pics because I can.

While the title of this blog is “61’s” (note the s) I’ll leave the storytelling of that build to the campground at Bus Stop. But it did involve a few trips to @Roo to put in some quality time with a Helpie Kelpie.

Being quite rehearsed at our packup I left Dno to filling the racks with the cases and camp equipment. Tess did the ferrying of stuff while I did the final wash up and pack up. Didgee got under everyone’s feet and was told to go and sit down so then proceeded to sulk and watch tennis as we all did the back and forwards bus pack.

Ohh and I forgot to add there was a little tinkering at the table to get the race cars ready. 1E340B22-6A41-41B4-8924-08823745AD57.jpeg

So our normal stop in our village to check the load. Hmm this feels familiar!

We stopped in Cowra for a bit of shopping only to be accosted by a scary Easter Bunny!! Tess did the billy bolt when she saw it coming and had to be coaxed into the photo by some other random kids we picked up along the way and held in place by the Woolies manager. No doubt I shouldn’t be sharing their photo on social media but hey they were there for the chocolate!!

First roadside pull over. Was that a noise? We have no power? I’m sure I heard a noise? Did you check the fuel lines? I think I smell something?

But no everything was right just a heavy load, big hill and some dodgey fuel making the ole girl ping.

Into Dno’s home town of Grenfell and checked out the new silo art. Fantastic effort!

Then up to Dnos brothers to change the oil and a double check of things.

Out to dinner with the in-laws and family to celebrate Dnos birthday and tucked up for night one.

That is seriously the scariest looking Easter Bunny I've ever seen! It belongs in a horror movie!

Hayley, this is fantastic! Not only do I love your stories and pics but you make us feel better knowing we share those same on road anxieties. (Stay tuned for our yearly Bus Stop saga!):D

Yep! Bloody hilarious, I couldn’t help but crackup up when Tess ran for her father. The rabbit took that as a challenge and chased her down several aisles away. I was left wondering if I had really just seen that or not. Hence had to follow up with the photo

Thanks mate, we are all in it together. Wouldn’t be the same unless we had the toolbox out tinkering on someone’s bus. Just preferably not ours But if it is at least I know we are well prepared and we have s Kombi family to share it with. See you there for a beer.

Day 2 started with Deans brother dropping in some oil for the toolkit in his Lowie. Made for a good pic with their Dad and the dog, who at this stage still thought she was coming. Little did she know she was about to be left behind!

On the road again, Dno dressed up for the occasion.

We called into art of espresso in Young for a coffee and chai. Their logo is a Kombi and a good coffee and apparently also a good chai! (Not that I got much!)

I think the owners of the coffee shop might be Kombi owners. Have seen one parked out the front on a couple of trips through.
Tess still as cute as ever! :)
