Into the seats now not looking too bad bit of a wire brush and Rust converter and good as new (pics to come) and looking at Upholstery, Which one shall we choose any thoughts?
Depends what you want for your bus. No 2 sample is closest to original colour (not texture). Good progress as seats a PITA. If you had no broken springs or outside spring steel edge on the drivers seat you've a low mileage bus or was owned by a tall person whom could reach the ground as they got out...unlike myself! Cheers
Sure am. Wore the paint off the lower inside door surround many times over as I levered & slid to ground. Cheeky bugger @rstucke ...you may get my title with those sort of responses. Cheers
So your all short arses I'm only posting this cause I'm 6'2 and do the exact same thing, so pooy to you @David H about your degrading my impeccable presents (just kidding) cheers
Look forward to the impeccable presents (imposing presence from your 6'2'' frame??) from you Rick. What do I get as my present? Cheers, That's an easy one for the incorrigible. Sorry Omelette81
Frames cleaned and rust treated, horse hair padding ok so only need a bit of extra padding before covering. Awaiting on delivery of new and some old parts from places so gonna take a break this weekend to enjoy the Australia Day Activities. More to come soon.
More Body work done and got the fuel tank out now unfortunately has a couple of holes in so prob need a replacement or any ideas or products out there that may be able to repair it? Pics to come.
Watch your tank as a 72 has one extra breather pipe as you know. As most replacements don't have it.Overseas I,ve seen new 72 tanks. If you get a later tank. You may have to block the extra breather pipe near the filler neck. If the holes are small enough you could de fume the tank and weld it up.
As of last week. Closer still my body guy is hoping soon so I asked if we could try for July/August. Now got to get back onto the rest of it. Been a few distraction lately but now planning some serious Kombi time.
Hi all Bit of an update got my bus home last week while my guy who is doing my Bodywork has to move house. Gd for me to get on with some bits. First job rear axle refresh. So removed these and now in process of disassembling and new brgs seals etc. Pics to follow.
