Credit to you David H .As you may know kombis are never finished .There is always work to be done to them. There is just more time to enjoy what you have done with a cold one or two.. Drive it with the biggest of them all. You want be wiping that of any time soon. I can see the gleam from them teeth from hear . get out there and enjoy it .Ohh wait it's bloody raining.
Raining horizontally onto the Meguiars 3 metres from the edge of the carport tonight. Enjoying watching it shed water so easily. Great wax & the beer was good also. Thanks & yeah...always a bit more to do on Kombis
kombis looking good David, I'm waiting for $$$ to do my battery and stereo. When will it ever end!? LOL but having fun driving it around the neighbourhood.
Just to prove that your kombi is never finished. I had some ebay 2w blue LED lights & no light in the lighter.
Just wondered.........here's the result
Or when your 4 year old grandaughter puts her arm round you and says, "You're soooo old grandad".
New accelerator pedal with new spring (broken..thus replace) from JK. Pin didn't fit into the not round (oval) part of pedal base. Hammer & round object required to make round.
I love hammers. Big hammer & centre punch needed to get old pin out after 2 weeks of soaking in WD40 after 40 years. Sort of work I like..........subtle stuff!
& to prove they are never finished......still got steering column & base, gear shift, handbrake, & pedal arms to paint.
But one step (pedal) closer.
As I was taught during my apprenticeship, "if in doubt, get a bigger hammer".
You a 'fitter' or an artist?
A plant mechanic Dave.
The other rule was "always use the right size shifter" LOL
Ah....a "shifter"......obviously an artist
Hi Kombi Lovers,
Old Boy did the run to Berry "Blast from the Past' as his first big outing since spending nearly 2 years undergoing resto. 4 hrs at expressway speed each way.
He gave me the confidence (again) that I can trust his performance & reliability & for doing such a great job I now get to buy him a new crank seal (as a reward for good behaviour) which must have been leaking for years whilst he sat doing nothing in the panel shop. Heat does show problems & I reckon this one was due to 'lack of heat' as he wasn't turned over for over a year. My fault not his! Booked in for next week...engine out....next move?
The traffic down to Berry via Pennant Hills Road was horrendous and if you were stuck in that it would have tested your engines cooling ability - I know it gave Nils big red syncro a hard time and I got sunburnt on my arm with the window open. That is one of the worst roads in Australia.
If your kombi passed that he is doing well.
Looks awesome in the flesh by the way - even in poor light
There is a solution to stopping sunburn Scott...........
Yes some out of date sunscreen.
Thanks for that Grant
I'll bring some fresh, unclotted stuff, next time.......
Inside the cupboards got reno'd
Happy with that
Hi Kombi Lovers,
Thanks to Grantus' suggestion (on Blaze Cut thread) this is what I ended up with. LED's to engine bay.. Night photo.
& thought "Why stop there?" I've always wanted some light above those stainless tanks. Check this out. Judgements accepted!
Don't even talk about the law. They're just night camping lights! Porch lights!
Haha looks like you've seen the light alright!
Hallelujah..... for they have seen the light! They drive a Kombi.
