14 T3's or varying configurations 2WD air cooled, 2WD watercooled & Syncro turned up for the Amaroo Park 2020 Camp Out. What a great way to spend the best part of a weekend. Weather was great. A big thank you to Andy Ho & wife Justine (Juzza) for organising the logistics such as Site, BBQ, Power, Amenities and Entertainment. All we had to do was turn up and enjoy our self and we did just that. Geoff (Wattie) made the trip all the way from SA just for this event. Upon arrival we were presented with a great welcome pack which included the Amaroo 2020 sticker.
Sadly with whats going on in Australia this may be the only VW event to be held for the remaining part of 2020 although still have fingers crossed for Old Bar.

Thanks Melissa. 3 guys there have never been to an event before and had a great time and have vowed to attend other gatherings like Old Bar and hopefully next year Bus Stop so in that sense it was great. We all had a great chin wag and checked out each others vans & sharing our inside info on keeping them on the road and some mods we have done etc. We may or may not do it again but was fun.

Not only annoyed at missing this one, but even more annoyed as you rightly pointed out Phil, it was probably the last VW get together of any sort, for an unknown amount of time........... :(

Looks like a great event! :)

I have had to respond to some people including my wife who felt that to hold the event was irresponsible however we were all aware of the need for social distancing and respected others decisions to not come as a couple did. It was a bit weird keeping each other at some distance but became almost routine in the end. As measures have developed we probably wouldnt have gone ahead if a decision were made today but when the decision to go ahead was made by the individuals that attended it was felt right.
We have a long road ahead and I hope we ALL come through this.

Was a great opportunity to meet other T3's and was well managed with little effort. Twenty Twenty hindsight is such a wonderful thing. We should also remember that at this time "So Slow" was still going to the footy to follow his beloved Sharks. Well done to Phil, Andy and Juzz.
