For anyone wondering the M-code plate tells us this bus is:-

425 - North American export package
B42 - Westfalia Special Order 42 Camping package
002 - US Sealed Beam headlights
    025 - Safety Belts
108 - Westfalia kit and louvre windows

    Build date: 2 Feb 1966

Model 231 - Kombi left hand drive
    Paint colour - Velvet Green
    Paint finish:- Nitro-lacquer finish
    Shipped to Boston, USA

There is no reserve on the vehicle but the owner is expecting somewhere around $20k. I think he will get it too.

hey badey, had a long chat to the owner when he first put it up. seems an honest bloke. before he got it it had 20 years on new york roads = 20 years of salt. it has been sitting outside in sydney for last 5 years. cargo floor, crossmembers, the lot needs replacing under all that cool original stuff. if you can do it yourself you will save a fortune, if not 20k will only be the start. he said from the interest he had it will go for silly money. his words not mine. pete

you know what, I think I saw it there last week; with its windows out right? I went and had a chat to Merin (the mechanic there) about the wolfsburg. He thought it might have a bit of cancer actually - there are some nice buses around that workshop. Anyway, hope it comes back better than before ; )
