    Hey guys,

I came across a Kombi hiring company located in Brisbane and am looking to use them for my trip in May!

All of them look in very good condition and the rules etc regarding the use seems pretty good!

Looking at around $140 per day and unlimited kms if staying within a 250km radius of the business!

Yep, that was hire a dub. Great to deal with in my opinion. Bus drove nicely, made it to nimbin and back without missing a beat.

Thanks for the reply! Do you remember which one you got?

I'm currently in contact with them and trying to plan my trip!

I'm in QLD for a week and want to check out the Aus Zoo, some of the theme parks, Sufers Paradise and Byron Bay but debating wether to do it all in a Kombi or hire a new rental for the first few days? What do you think?

KF have also "partnered" with other companies also - think a couple of those may be surprised as to the terminology used and the fact they are listed on the KF website ...... seems if they buy, advertise or engage someway with an organisation then they're a partner :eek:

We had Molly, she has been repainted a different blue since then though.

I reckon go the kombi, do it in style haha. The main thing I would look at if I wasn't used to driving old cars is the aircon issue.

They are splits if thats how they were originaly constructed.
Obviously you need to see things for yourself and make own decisions but my call on australia zoo is its an overpriced retail outlet.
And most of us who live in se qld are glad that there is a motorway bypassing the gold coast ;).
Byron was beautiful but its getting sucked dry as a cash cow.

    Take the kombi.
It will give you the obligatory smile and option to camp at a quiet beach northern nsw.
Although free camping is prob not advised.
Local councils may promote the freedom of uncluttered beaches but want their cut.
