Nil Nil draw. Got 8:1 odds at the TAB, so figure this would be the best possible outcome for all involved.

also happy with this result. happier than the german result anyway.

all we need to do now is beat serbia 3-0 or either just beat them in combination with ghana beating germany.

I'm not happy - there's no way that should have been a penalty in my books.

I feel we were totally robbed.

How can we get 2 red cards in 2 games????

Because we are Australia and the Italians are probably paying their refs for some un-known reason.

I'm not happy either...BUT if I was reffing that game and called it how I saw it at the time with no use of replay etc etc...I would've called a penalty too....and pretty sure I would've given a red card or at least a yellow....remember this is without the use of replays/slow motion etc etc and purely an objective response.

    Now c'mon Aussie!!!

My fourteen year old son is a football player and also a referee, some of the abuse he has recieved from the sdeline makes my blood boil.
Since the start of the cup he tells me the amount of diving has gotten out of hand at matchs he is refereeing.

too funny....I remember youth league training on the Marconi training fields and when the coach wasn't around we'd be working on our diving techniques (maximum air) for a laugh but we wouldn't do it on the field.

The All Whites - yes what an effort.

And how satisfying to see Italy suffer
