I’m about to order a Bentley ‘68-79 Bus workshop manual through Booktopia. ISBN 9780837616353. Quote is $79.75. Has anyone found a cheaper source? If not, does anyone want a copy? I could order two and onsell the second one to you at cost. I’ll pick up the postage.

Valuable resource, and I guess most buy a second hand one, sold on sites like Ebay or Gumtree, sold by sellers after the Kombi has departed the household. o_O

My Bentley came included with a Kombi purchase......

I have a copy of either Bentleys or Haynes on disc. Can burn you a copy if you like. Will be couple of weeks before I get home to check which it is though.

Thanks Terry for your offer, but I prefer a hard copy I can refer to more easily while lying under the bus covered in oil and stuff. Lol.

Note that original has coloured electric diagrams. New versions are B & W.
    Still a good reference book.

Beauty of pdf copy I find is I print out the pages that I need and the good hard copy stays mostly free of my grubby finger prints. I have both. Pdf Available for anyone who wants when I get home.. think I've emailed a few before.

Agreed, and the printed pages are then good to pre clean your hands, after the task is complete, before dropping in the recycle bin...;)

Right, well in that case it’s a no-brainer then.

Research the pages you need for the task, in the clean environment in front of the computer, then select the helpful pages, and press “print”.

Take those pages under the bus, and go your hardest. ;)

End of the day, once sorted, pop in the recycle bin along with any parts packaging. :)

If you miss anything, print another clean legible page for the next bash..

I'll plug for buying a hard copy.
Printouts handy to keep book in good nick but bedtime reading is better with a hard copy.
    Good familiarization process.

Both is the ideal situation. :)

But one, rather than none, is a great starting point......;)

Bentley good for lots of specs.
Can't remember if its Haynes or gregories that produces a good one with plenty of procedural pics.

One is good a good adjunct to Bentley, the other a waste of money.

Some of the VW parts shops sell them ;) - you could try VW Performance Centre in Croydon Vic, Vintage Vee Dub Supplies in Campsie NSW or Mick Motors in Northgate Qld

Should add that the parts shops mentioned do not have fully functional web sites so you are best to call them ;) ...... expect all will be closed until the new year.

Will be home in a week or so. Anyone who wants a pdf version I can email.
I'm also one for hard copies and have them to use as Col says. Although not so much as bedtime reading. It'd end up leading me to massive sleepless planning sessions.:(

It searches for the best prices. works a treat. Don't register. just put the isbn in. Found heaps of Bentleys from $50 dollars up.
