That is incredible!!
so would anybody like to share an olympic cabin with sammie and i ?
Jon we may consider it but we are a tad concerned about the snoring !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its ok Jay, we will wear ear plugs.
Don't be so self depreciating too
Thanks for the offer. The beauty of a tin tent is that when you slam the Whiz-Bang the world goes quiet! Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
How dare you accuse Sammie of snoring.
You, Sir, are an unmitigated cad & bounder.
My seconds shall call on you at the earliest opportunity.
We shall not have the good ladys name besmirched by the likes of you.
At work, our holidays are rotated forward one month each year so the same people aren't always getting Christmas or Easter holidays all the time which makes it fair for everyone. We also have a new unit manager and I know she's pretty strict about these things, but today I went into her office and put on my best "cat from Shrek" look (What was his name?) and explained how this may be the last Bus Stop I'll ever be able to attend (it's not, but she doesn't know that and I hope she's not savvy enough to get on this site )
To cut a long story short, I asked if it was alright to have my holidays at Easter two years in a row and she said "no problems" without any hesitation So at this stage, it looks like I'll be coming too
puss in boots and good news bout the holidays
Top job Aime. hopefully We'll be there too then head on up to Nimbin after!
Hmmm. I'm sure he had some name like Don Juan or something:wtf: Not that I'm doubting you. I only happened to see it while the grand kids were watching it
What's on at Nimbin?? Anything interesting?? I've always wanted to go there myself and have been known to make rash and unplanned trips.
Way, way back I read a book called "The Wild Colonial Boys" and discovered that Kate Foster, or Kate Kelly (sister of Ned) was buried at Forbes not far from Ben Halls grave. A couple of years ago, I jumped in my old Seca and drove there to see for myself. I just love being on the road, but the Kombi has made all that even more meaningful
The Nimbin Mardi Grass is apparently on the following weekend, so Alice and I will also likely head up for it.
Have you been invited????
The National Folk Festival is on in Canberra over that weekend too - we plan on coming - but might need to make a side trip to canberra to keep Rick happy.
Wow what fun!
just pus in boots.
We've booked. This is our first Bus Stop and we can't wait !!!
Trying hard not to take this off-topic (so apologies), but do you need an invite for Nimbin ?
so... erm... what IS KC Bus Stop ?
Is there a website or something that can provide more details ?
Mike, did you read the first post in this thread? Also have a look at previous years of Bus Stops. It is an event that we meet every year at Easter. A different location has been chosen each year to allow people from all over to attend. The 2010 Bus Stop was held at Mount Gambier. We all try to stay at the same place, have a social night at either the park or a club nearby (depending on where we have stayed) and we make it fancy dress or themed (first gathering was hats, then masks, then hawaiian and last year was the circus theme). We go for a drive as a cruise in the local area and just generally hang out and catch up with other kombi owners.... and dont forget the kombi races with all classes of models!!! Lots of fun and very family friendly.... no excuses.
Mike, you don't need an invite for MardiGrass but you'd better get your name in quick if you want to be at Camp Keen. The houseblock is booked out & the overflow have to go in the bottom paddock.
If you want to check out what happens have a look in the Event Discussions for Queensland/Northern NSW.
Here's the thread for Mardi Grass 2011
