    Hi KCers
We are planning to stop for one night in Eden (28 Dec) and Batemans Bay (29 Dec) on our way up the coast this christmas, however not supprisingly all the campsites are booked out. Does anyone know of an overnight stop or just a good spot to park for the night? Don't fancy the Coles carpark...

Is Kangaroo valley too far up? Its a nice free campsite on Sydney water catchment land. It'll be pretty heaving though. Good spot to see wombats cruising around the campsite.

If you cant get in at Eden .... would expect that Mallacoota will have plenty of room on the foreshore

Just south of Eden of the highway is salt water creek and national park that may be a good spot gone through but did not stay.

We just stayed out a Kioloa beach caravan park and it was lovely and is pretty big, October long weekend it was empty maybe try there. Other wise near xmas '09 we stayed in a roadside rest stop somwhere around Eden, may have been in some state forest, wasnt a bad place to stop had toilets and one or two bbq's. It was just off the highway in some bush but I dont remember where it was unfortunaly.

Batemans Bay gets very, very busy at xmas time. If you'd like somewhere a little quieter try Tuross Head, there are two camping spots there. Could be booked out already though.
Moruya Heads also has a nice van park and only a half hour south of Batemans Bay.

We usually stay in Tathra when we're up the East coast.

Much quieter than the other towns ans great fishing off the warf. No supermarket only a general store. Not too many tourists. Perfect for a one night stop.

We stayed at Scrubby Creek roadside stop with other kombi clubbers for a night en route to last bus stop. Bushy with drop dunnies and fire places. Basic but fine for a quick stop. App 20km south of Eden
