    Hi,
Anyone shipped a car from Europe before? Can you give me any recommendations for companies and what it cost? I’d need it shipped to Melbourne.
What issues did you face registering it in Australia?
    Cheers in advance.

Rego issues depend on the type of car, age of car and also depends on if it is a personal import, more info would help, cheers Greg

Have a very good friend that sent a 99 RHD BMW M3 convertible back home from France last year.

After needing a full asbestos free diagnosis by Aus Border Force, before departure, that required multiple samples to be taken from various areas on the vehicle, (even though a full disclosure from BMW stated, that zero asbestos was used in the fabrication of that vehicle), and then sent to a lab in the UK for testing and clearance, it arrived in Brisbane. Then road freighted to the ACT.

As it was totally factory, and unmodified, it passed the full rego inspection first go.

Never asked about the cost of the total exercise, but I could find out.

If you wouldn’t mind asking who he used and cost. That’d be great. Cheers

budget for about 2500k AUD. really depends what it is and worth. self insured at that price. you then have to pay tax and duty on the import.
and inland shipping cleaning and what ever else get thrown at you. needs to come out of forwarders in 3 days other wise you in for storage costs.

Freight cost from France to Brisbane, after dropping the car off to the UK, (so UK to Brisbane), was around A$5k, on a “roll on, roll off” ship, parked internally undercover. The container method, was going to be about A$7k.

Only asked a cost for your consideration. Can also get the company details for you, if the costs are in the ballpark.
