Clutch inspection... what to look for??

    Checked the mounts earlier today.. all look ok..
    however....I discovered a new oil leak.. on the front end of the gearbox will investigate further tomorrow..

    That ones an easy fix.
    Check sideways play in shaft as well.
    There's a replacement bush if need.
    Not sure of play limits.
    The oil may have softened rear selection shaft joint as well.

    Don't go to Repco or Autopro their prices are exorbitant, Tooleys have quality parts at reasonable prices. You can buy a kit for less than 1/2 what you would spend at either of these. While the seal is out check the No 1 main bearing for wear in the case and also replace the "O" ring in the flywheel.

    machine the flywheel if any hot spots pretty well routine these days it costs nothing to do if you find a clutch and brake shop $40 my guy charges me clutch kits these days for kombi 1800 and 2000 cc are getting expensive oil on the clutch best to change the rear main and front gear box seal i also would make sure you have the correct engine oil dip stick if you have a temperature gauge type dipstick your level will be wrong and you will constantly blow rear main oil seals like no tomorrow
