Our kombi has started a really loud crunching noise when we turn over the key when it is cold, it lasts for only a second or two. The noise sounds like it is coming from the engine.

It was only serviced a few weeks ago at Wayne Penrose so I'm a little surprised (wait ... kombi's don't surprise me anymore) why it has started doing this suddenly. Might give him a call in the morning but before I do, any idea of what it could be?

Thanks guys, will check it tomorrow in the daylight. No unusual troubles starting up, just the noise that started a few days. Hopefully a non-issue, but one I'd like to get sorted nonetheless.
