    Hi all,

I’m planning my Bus Stop / Bug In camping extravaganza and have plotted to drive the Alpine Way from Jindabyne to Khancoban.

Has anyone done this in a Kombi? What do you think? Go round? Or go over?

Any advice would be very welcome

Go Over.......it's a beautiful drive, easily done in a kombi.
Just remember that you're not driving a WRX....so don't over rev. or lug the engine unnecessarily.
Kombis are geared low to enable them to shift heavy loads and climb brick walls.........but not quickly.
As for any drive.....Ensure your engine is in best possible condition, regularly maintained and any issues sorted before you set off.
AND.........enjoy the view out the windows !
    Enjoy the ride:cool:
    Cheers,
    Mark

    Thanks Mark
‘We’ went over Hotham earlier this year - it was a slow slug but we made it!
I will add it to my itinerary

You'll find some unreal camp spots on the rivers of the Alpine Way
Diggings Campground just before Thredbo is awesome with bike n walking tracks looking over the river up to the Cracknback range.
If you intend going up to Perisher & Mt Kozi, Sawpit Creek has a full blown camping ground with hot showers etc.
But if your looking to get out into the wilderness Island Bend campground on the Guthega rd would be hard to pass up.
    Ava great ride, Tony
