I remember reading about the rally scene many years ago when Eric Carlson would drive 2 stoke SAAB to victory the cars were noisy and could be heard but as the technology improved and turbos introduced the cars became so much quieter and faster people didn't notice them coming till it was too late. Those early rally cars must have been freakin noisy !

It's the "great" Darwinian theory Grant.

Those species that adapt to their changing environment survive while those that don't are wiped from the face of the earth ( now where's that maniacal laughter)

Well a lot of vehicle noise in modern (quiet) cars is due to tyres, gearbox and wind noise... but yes, it could be an issue at low speed. When I had kids I replaced one of the reverse light bulbs in each of our cars with a bulb that has a built in beeper, for just that reason.

A recent Wheeler Dealers episode had a Maserati Biturbo electric rebuild. Go to about the 15:50 mark and they have a section on an EV kombi split, nice ride!

That could be as cool as a Kombi, with the right amount of work. At least it's a split screen!:p

    Thanks for shareingbthat grant.

The videography was awefull. looked like it was the very first take of a concept video and somebody accidentally released it.

It's funny how vw has been floghing that body shape for some 10 years or so - I just wish they actually would build the thing...

Liked cartoon of the temps in Canberra ,
suggesting it was so cold that the politicians actually had their hands in their own pocket's.
