You could try graphite on the key to lubricate the lock (or WD40)

Try another key first. But may have cracked inside the barrel in which case you'll need a new one (& get it rekeyed at a locksmith if you wish) but the challenge will be getting to the rear catch from inside via the hatch above the carbs so you can get it open & remove the lock. Good Luck;).

Can the key enter the lock ok and turn the barrel? You may have to take the inside panel off to have a look ,depends on whats happening with the lock in relation to the opening striker mechanism or remove lock one screw. Which if you get bored pull the lock apart to see why it doesn't work,to be able to fix, depends on whats wrong.
Worse case a new one or a good second hand one might be in order and get the barrel converted over to your current key.

Do you have an engine inspection hatch? If so you could do it via that.

Worst case you can drill the centre of the lock

I have opened 1 or 2 from inside after removing the trim (which is a bit of a bugger) and tripped the mechanism internally, but you need to be nimble and patient with a sense of humour .

Or if you don’t want to donate to the jar, just walk away before it happens.

Amazing how doing another task clears the head, or finds a solution, to then go back to it, and succeed....;)
