What a score...and what a project! Well done Josh! Many enjoyable resto hours ahead..... to be followed by much more enjoyable cruising times.. Always enlightening to see the cross section of generations getting into Kombis.
Looks great, Will be interesting seeing what your first clean up shows best of luck with your project
once i get rid of all that surface rust i'll definitely be moving it under cover... it has been out in rain for 3 years, since cyclone larry' and we do get ALOT of rain in babinda (wettest town in aust) .... tully comes second'
i stripped inside of the kombi this arvo got the front seats out (which are in very good condition ) and got the gerni out too' ... now you can see through the front window!!! tomorrow i'll be taking all the cr@p that came with the bus and lots of other cr@p to the dump'... make room for it downstairs - 'rain is the enemy'
Can't wait for more pics, especially after just cleaning her up. Make sure you send them thru Great bonding project too!
From what I understand a microbus is just a kombi that isnt a panel van, Sc, Dc or a Camper. And a deluxe model has some things the normal microbusses dont such as the arm rests/ vents on the front doors. They also have deluxe trim that goes down the side of the bus (wich is usually how I tell if it is a deluxe) Yours has the vents on the doors but dosnt have the trim on the outside.
after i cleaned the outside of mine i could see the original paint colour through the white paint... it was navy blue with white stripes down the side... maybe it could have come with a trim aswell?
