    Hi all,

Here's a great place to stay, Wollombi Tavern. It's actually on the grounds of the pub. Certainly makes camping easy with the tavern there.

It's a lovely scenic drive along Tourist Drive 33 from Sydney. We put together an article on the drive there, here's a link to it:

    Yeah- always drop in there.
    Great pub
Only down side is you can’t bring alcohol there.
Need to drink in the pub.

Whenever we camp up north we come back this way to Sydney
They do a great burger there

Gets pretty crazy on Sunday arvo

Half a billion motor bikes pull in for lunch

The food sells for a while so is best for a late lunch

I pass on the Dr Jurd’s Jungle Juice and stick to a beer or 2

Im happy to organize a cruise, if that's ok with the moderators?
Maybe the weekend 24-25 Nov, before all the xmas social engagements, could hava chat with the pub & see what doin on that weekend.
Kombi tribes could gather at Peats Ridge where the Oaks Milk bar once was, cruise along Old Nth rd to Wollombi for an ale or two (or more) & camp the night outback of the pub.

    Hope to see you there..!!

Sadly our Kombi won't be on the road by Nov but we plan to camp and take our old 1976 series 3 Landrover for the drive..

I am sure we will gain inspiration from your vehicles

    The silence is deafening...

My apologies for writing about a land rover on a kombi forum , the Kombi is our main priority...

We fitted new glass in 2 side windows, new glass in rear window and new glass in the windscreen today..

If all goes well should be on the road before Xmas....

Hey Ian & Shelley, no apologies needed, you'll find kombi people are aren't judgemental like some car clubs, we just share a passion.
Thanks to you! re your original post Wollombi Tavern generated interest in resurrecting the Wollombi Wanderer cruise.
Please see the post on coming events for the Wollombi Wanderer, hope to see you then & keep posting.

Land Rover is not a problem. The main thing is you share a love of kombis :D

Its on again the Wollombi Wander cruise 24 - 25 Nov !!!!!
Plan is to meet at Peats Ridge Village shops 1112 Peats Ridge rd on Sat 24 at 12 noon, where the original Oaks milk bar once stood.
Join in on a leisurely cruise down through the picturesque Wollombi Valley to the historical village of Wollombi.
Take wander around the historical buildings, church, quaint shops, then refresh your thirst with a cold beer at the tavern, home of the Dr Jurds Jungle Juice.
The Tavern offers free camping in the back paddock, where we'll line up the buses for a photo shoot from the pubs rear balcony.
All are welcome stay over night, providing we custom the bar while its open, restaurant will also be open for dinner.
Come for just the day cruise or enjoy a few drinks at the bar & camp overnight.

So this is where the other part of the cruise is being discussed.

    Should be fun.

See who I can talk into it. :)
