With just on a week to go (some people even less) I am hoping people will be getting ready and organised with packing etc.

    Couple of tips -
Hope you have already had your ride serviced in ready for the trip - or if you are confident, having plenty of spares just in case for roadside repairs.

NRMA (or equivalent) cover up to date.

Fill up with petrol on the cheapest day - usually Wednesday late, as they always put it up just before a long weekend. Start off with at least a full tank of "cheapish" petrol.

Speaking of petrol, last week I checked my points on my credit card. I found I had enough to get 2 X $100 Caltex petrol cards and they arrived today! Bonus, thats 1 each for each kombi. ;)

This week when you go shopping grab a few groceries to set aside so you dont have to do a huge shop next week - with the crowds.

Got your Hawaiian gear ready? There is always the op shops if you wouldn't be normally caught dead in a Hawaiian shirt

Feel free to add your tips.

Kombi in for a service? CHECK! Our latest addition Little Debbie is booked in on Monday with the VW experts at Phoenix Engineering for an all-over prod, poke, drain, refill and tune. Hopefully after a few days there they let her out to come down on the trip...

Everything else is going to be purchased/gathered up over this coming weekend. I can't believe we're almost a week out from coming down! Man, this year's Bus Stop has well and truly snuck up on me!

I am not sure if you can buy alcohol on Good Friday - can you?

Better get some before you go away just to be safe.

I have been watching all the flooding in Coffs Harbour which we need to pass through to get to Bonny Hills. I was wondering has anyone looked at a long range weather forecast, or is it still to far away?

Bloody hell Michelle did you have to go and put a dampener on it like that, always the serious/sensible one you are....forget about the floods, they WILL be long gone by then ( just emailed brother in law the meterologist at Williamstown, just to make sure ;) will report back)

Nothing is going to dampen my spirts, have been adding to my 'pile' in the back room for weeks now. I'll probaby forget half a dozen things like I usually do but the shops are close by so I don't care. Just as long as the Kombis don't break down!

Hey Barefootfive can I have a bit of Pav too?

Sure can Lorraine, we will be happy to "share" with everyone. :D
We will be bringing some Labna (its the most delicious goats curd cheese in the universe!) And a few other various cheeses to have with a nice drop of wine (Dingo ;) )

These lists are looking quite comprehensive. I have one that I use for roadtrips in xls format. But I'm like that. I always include dry/canned/foods, but on this trip we're going to do as much roadside shopping, markets, etc. The slower the food the better.

But to the stuff above, I propose adding first aid kit, sungear, bug repellant, totem tennis, frisbee golf, panadol, berocca.
