Good to meet you all this morning!
Would have loved to spend a bit of time nosing at @Subdub67 's van, but being on time can never be relied on when there's a van to start first thing in the morning

See if you can spot the Kombis, How many can you see?
Ps: Did you boys get any waves?

Makes me think we should do something like this in Sydney, maybe once every 2 months at Palmie??

Plenty of waves to be had, although not much water underneath them!
Alex was flying, Dan got plenty, I paddled around with a very sore rib and missed most of them

Hi Dan, Great pics, we should organise another surf. I could do next weekend, more the merrier! If you’re keen. Jon

Yeah mate Im in. Not sure of the forecast though. My mate Alex is away for work but I'll probably haunt the beach. Maybe we could put it off for a couple of weeks and try for a bigger turn out? We'd have Matt, Alex, myself and you for starters. I know another bloke from Burleigh with a splitty who'd be keen and of course any other people interested.

18 years married today so we jumped in the Kombi with the dog and hit the road for a day drive exploring northern NSW. Couldn't have been a better day for it.

Yeah Barry she's all done now. It was a lot worse then expected and cost a fortune but I guess it is to be expected with a vehicle 47 years old. We drive the old girl daily and use it for as as many surf trip getaways as possible so I don't mind throwing the money at it.

    @Surfing72

If it’s a keeper- then price can be put to one side.
As long as it was done properly is what matters

I did the numbers on my respray the other day, and it equates to about 2 years lease payments on a new T6.1.

The resto was done just over 2 years ago......... so I’m now ahead, with a fully owned (32 year old) workhorse, and no other monthly lease payments to make! ;)

All depends how you look at expenditure, I guess.

We both just enjoy the ride, on a daily basis! :)

Didn't get to far mate, we just drove from Qld south towards our old stomping ground around Mullumbimby etc.. however this time we explored every side street / beach track along the way. Its amazing how when we live in an area we tend to go from A to B without asking ourselves "where does that road go?";)

In the photos you can see we stopped at Fingal Head on the Tweed Heads river for morning tea. It was the top of the tide with crystal clear water. Great spot for snorkelling.

We also found a beach access dirt road at Wooyung. On the right day you get kilometres of beach to your self here as we did. Just watch out for the weirdos in the dunes:)

    Hey Dan,

It truly is a beautiful part of the world. I have a brother who lives at Wilson’s Creek. I hope to be up that way soon. Enjoy.
