Hi all , thought ill join this forum as I own a 74 Singlecab imported from Warnbro Australia back in 2005, not by me. I'm slowly restoring it , got a replacement locker door as mine is rusted out its a later one so I'm modifying it to fit. I'm pleased how its looking now but its never finished
Thks Barry , Its in good shape now but wasn't when I got it. I got the canvas tonneau last year it was a bugger to fit as it was an off the shelf jobbie so very tight im hoping it will stretch abit.
Hi Singlecabjay welcome to the KC, another single cab in the fold, also have a 76 single cab ute, enjoy it wherever it takes you.
Hiya Thk you Theres a few out there not many late bay utes in the U.K but its good to have something different
Hi Jay and welcome, Picking up on your treasure chest door - was it new or 2nd hand - mine has rust along the bottom which has been cut out and repaired, putting the rust cancer into remission, however it has returned - BUGGA - a replacement would be great but I can`t find a source. cheers
Thk you . My replacement treasure chest door is a very good rust free secondhand one which took me 2 years to find one and I paid alot of money for but there is not alot of them out there and its for a later pickup with different hinges so I've got to weld in my hinges onto it so it fits. I can't iunderstand why they don't reproduce the later treasure chest door they do the splitty one. Maybe because they didn't sell the later pickups in the USA so not much call for them. My original door was too far gone to repair. You may be able to get yours profession reskinned
Tks Jay, Just thought I`d ask - nothing ventured and all that...................I suspected that re-skinning would be the go- now to find a panel beater to do it - I had a lead on a guy down on the Gold Coast (about 60km south) but I was hoping for someone closer. I don`t think re skinning is a routine job, esp because of the louvres and key hole. George
Sus out the guy in Goldy who was fabricating the A pillar skins. Would be well within his skill set I recon.
