    Hey guys
Just wondering why our 72 beetle runs well if I hold the ignition switch on but splutters or stops if I let it go? Just a little awkward trying to hold the key, turn the steering wheel and change gears. Another day in the life of a vw owner;) Still lovin' it.

The ignition switch contacts will need replacing, try jiggling the wires where they come up the column to the switch as a temporary fix.
